The Night Always Comes: Vanessa Kirby and Benjamin Caron Team Up for New Film Adaptation

Vanessa Kirby, best known for her role as Princess Margaret in the hit series The Crown, is set to reunite with director Benjamin Caron for a new project based on Willy Vlautin’s novel, The Night Always Comes. The story follows a working-class woman in the Pacific Northwest who embarks on a 24-hour quest to raise enough money to keep a roof over her head. Netflix has acquired the rights to the film, which is set to be directed by Caron, known for his work on The Crown and Disney+ series Andor.

The Night Always Comes centers around Lynette, played by Kirby, a woman who juggles multiple jobs while caring for her mother and developmentally disabled brother. Living in a world where gentrification is pushing out the working class, Lynette is forced to take drastic measures to secure her family’s home. The story has a noir-ish flavor, showcasing Kirby’s ability to disappear into complex characters.

Kirby’s previous roles have showcased her versatility as an actress. From blockbusters like Mission Impossible to indie films like Pieces of a Woman, Kirby has proven her talent time and time again. Her portrayal of Empress Josephine in Napoleon was a standout in Ridley Scott’s film, while her performance in A Streetcar Named Desire opposite Gillian Anderson and Ben Foster was highly acclaimed. Kirby’s ability to bring depth and grit to her characters makes her a perfect fit for the role of Lynette in The Night Always Comes.

The Night Always Comes is set to begin filming in Portland, Oregon in May, with Kirby slated to star as Sue Storm in The Fantastic Four reboot directed by Matt Shakman later in the summer. The project is being produced by Gary Levinsohn and Ryan Bartecki from H2L Media Group, alongside Caron, Jodie Caron, and Vanessa Kirby and Lauren Dark for Aluna Entertainment. While Kirby and Caron have a successful history working together on The Crown, this new project is sure to take their collaboration to new heights.

The Night Always Comes promises to be a gripping and powerful film that showcases both Vanessa Kirby’s acting prowess and Benjamin Caron’s directing skills. With a strong team behind the project and a talented cast, this adaptation is set to captivate audiences and bring Vlautin’s story to life on the big screen.
