The Lava Yuva 3, the latest offering from Lava, was launched in India today. Positioned as an upgrade to the Lava Yuva 2, it joins the Lava Yuva 3 Pro in the brand’s lineup. While the smartphone boasts some promising features, it falls short in several key areas, making it a disappointing choice for consumers seeking a budget-friendly device.
One of the biggest letdowns of the Lava Yuva 3 is its underwhelming specifications. The phone is powered by an octa-core Unisoc chipset, which is far from the best option available in the market. This processor may struggle to handle demanding tasks and could result in sluggish performance. Furthermore, the display is only HD+ resolution with 720 x 1,600 pixels, which is a disappointment considering the availability of smartphones with Full HD+ displays at similar price points.
The Lava Yuva 3 offers limited options when it comes to RAM and storage configurations. It is available in two variants – 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM with 128GB storage. While this may be sufficient for basic usage, it falls short when compared to other smartphones in the same price range that offer higher RAM and storage capacities. This limitation could restrict users in terms of multitasking and storing large media files or applications.
The camera capabilities of the Lava Yuva 3 are nothing to write home about. It features a triple rear camera setup, consisting of a 13-megapixel primary sensor, an unspecified AI-backed sensor, and a VGA sensor. While the primary sensor may capture decent images, the lack of details about the AI-backed and VGA sensors raises concerns about their effectiveness. Moreover, the phone lacks NFC, which means users won’t be able to make mobile payments with services like Google Pay. With underwhelming specifications, limited RAM and storage options, mediocre camera performance, and an antiquated design, it fails to compete against other smartphones in the same price range. While it may appeal to those on a strict budget, there are better alternatives available in the market that offer superior features and performance.
