This new addition brings a wealth of talent to the project, with Condon set to play Dwight D. Eisenhower’s trusted aide Captain Kay Summersby.

The movie will focus on the tense days leading up to the Normandy landings during World War II. Andrew Scott will play Britain’s Chief Meteorological Officer James Stagg, whose crucial role was to inform Eisenhower of the weather conditions that could make or break their invasion. The film will explore the complex decision-making processes that were critical in shaping the fate of the war and the course of history.

“Pressure” will be directed by Anthony Maras, known for his work on “Hotel Mumbai.” The screenplay, based on David Haig’s critically acclaimed play, will delve into the personal and military stresses faced by Stagg and highlight the tensions that arose among the teams due to conflicting weather forecasts. The film aims to capture the pressure cooker of the decision-making process while also showcasing the scale of the D-Day landings.

The official synopsis of the movie reads: “In the 72 hours leading up to D-Day, all the pieces are in place except for one key element – the British weather. Britain’s Chief Meteorological Officer James Stagg is tasked with delivering the most consequential forecast in history, leading to a tense standoff with the Allied leadership. With only his trusted aide Captain Kay Summersby to confide in, Stagg is faced with the weighty decision that could determine the outcome of the largest seaborne invasion in history.”

Kerry Condon, known for her role in “Better Call Saul,” has recently received acclaim for her work in Martin McDonagh’s “TheBanshees Of Inisherin” and the Universal horror film “Night Swim.” She has also been involved in Apple’s F1 movie and has an upcoming project with Disney+ and Lucasfilm’s Star Wars sci-fi series “Skeleton Crew” alongside Jude Law.
