Samsung Galaxy S21 Series to Receive One UI 6.1 Update with New Galaxy AI Features

Samsung is set to release the One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldable phones. However, unlike newer models, these older handsets will only receive support for two new Galaxy AI features.

Circle to Search Feature

With the update, users of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3 will have access to the Circle to Search feature. This exclusive feature allows users to perform visual lookups by drawing, scribbling, or highlighting on the screen without leaving the app they are currently using.

Another AI feature that will be introduced with the One UI 6.1 update is Chat Assist. This feature is designed to help users compose texts in different languages by providing seamless translations of incoming and outgoing messages. Users will also be able to change the tone of their messages with this feature, making communication easier and more efficient.

Samsung has announced that the Galaxy AI features, including Circle to Search and Chat Assist, will be provided for free until the end of 2025. This move aims to enhance the user experience and make these features accessible to a wide range of users without any additional cost.

Lack of Full AI Functionality

Despite the introduction of these new AI features, Samsung has made it clear that older handsets like the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3 will not receive the full range of Galaxy AI functionality available on newer models. This decision may disappoint some users who were expecting a more comprehensive AI experience on their devices.

The upcoming One UI 6.1 update for the Samsung Galaxy S21 series and foldable phones will bring two new Galaxy AI features, Circle to Search and Chat Assist, to users. While these features offer additional functionality and convenience, it is important to note that these older handsets will not have access to the full suite of Galaxy AI features available on newer devices. Despite this limitation, the addition of Circle to Search and Chat Assist demonstrates Samsung’s commitment to improving the user experience and providing innovative features to its customers.
